Mechanical Engineering Department
I .General information of department.
The Institute was initially conducting a course in Mechanical Draftsmanship. Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering was started in 1958. Institute has started an additional batch with an intake of 60 from 2002.
II. Features of department-
- The department consists of latest machinery and equipments required for Diploma Programme.
- The department has laboratories as:
IC Engines, Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Machinery, Metrology and Quality Control, Theory of Machines, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Measurement & Control, CNC/CAD-CAM, ThermalEngg, Internet Laboratory, Workshop.
- Advanced Software like CATIA V5R 19, SW 2009, AUTOCAD.
- The department has a well qualified and dedicated staff.
III.Vision& mission statement of department –
Vision: To be a department that develops Mechanical Engineers to serve ever growing industrial demands and social needs.
Mission:
- To empower the students with fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering
- To enhance teaching and learning resources continually as per the latest technology
- To implement curricula effectively in tune with latest needs
- To strengthen alliance with all stake holders.
